Sol Lewitt

Hey, sorry for being such a bad blogger recently. i have just had so much work, and frankly nothing really to put up here. i we went to Massachusetts this weekend to go to Mass MoCA with my sister, and we saw this awesome Sol Lewitt exhibit, he was an artist who was really interested in geometric shapes and patterns, but still really wanted to be an artist despite the fact that he wasn't really good at the abstract part of artistry. so he did these huge wall installations of patterns and colors.
there were three floors in the museum, and they showcased his early, middle, and late work. you can see him getting more confident with color
i had many more pictures of this, it was so amazing.

This is just experimentation with different types of lines

drilled holes in the wall with bits of rolled up paper in them, this covered three walls, it was unbelievable to see in person.

this was my favorite of the exhibit, the pattern is the same in color on one side and different grays on the other side.

so afterwards, me and my sister found this amazing store calls where'd you get that? gifts for the curious. and what we found was amazing old toys that we thought were out of production like...CALICO CRITTERS!!! they are so cute, and i wanted to put a picture up, but my computer is being a butt, when we lived in London we had them and they are so adorable. in this amazing store we also found a doll called...wait for it...flatsy, she was a completely flat doll...because that will help girls with their body issues. so if you're ever in Williams town, check out that store.

more later
xx, emma
