Let it snow!

Hey guys, sorry for the delay, i've been fighting my way through midterms and my SAT (sympathy to all others who are going through them). My school FINALLY had a snow day last week, but honestly, there was a 100% chance of snow...there was no way we weren't going to have a snow day, but whatever.
my friends and i built some epic snowmen on the front lawn of our school.

Yay for pretty snow!

my school always looks so much better in the snow

This is my friend standing next to our snowman, it was fabulous...and then the stupid middle schoolers knocked it down! ugh, they ruin everything.

more college touring during this break...so excited. but then only four weeks until spring break!
adios for now

Tidings of Comfort and Joy

Merry Christmas everyone!
I hope that everyone has had a wonderful holiday so far, mine just started yesterday at 1:30, getting out of school.

I picked out our tree this year and my sister and I decorated it , it has quite some character and I love all of our old ornaments that we have kept over the years. some tied up with pieces of tinsel from the one year that we used it on our tree, and a few old ones from our grandmother.

My friends and I have had our gift exchanges mostly, and one of my friends makes cookies for everyone...and they are delicious.

I will post more after Christmas, my camera was out of batteries today, so no pictures of my tree, but soon to come.

for peace, love, and happiness

So Many Fleas

hi. so me, being the cool person i am, always do the school shows, and actually it is the greatest group of people ever, so i am proud to be a drama geek. Anyway, right now we're doing a play called A Flea in her Ear, and it is so funny, i get to hear my friends speak in bad Spanish and Scottish accents through the whole show and there's a brothel in Act II, and a rotating bed and just wonderful "farce." However, my pictures for this phenomenal show are not presently available...

so, as a substitute i will put up pictures of the two adorable lab puppies that my friend was taking care of this weekend. their names were Genie and Gifford...quite possibly the cutes puppies ever.

Their gorgeousness was overwhelming

Who doesn't feel better when they are hugging a puppy right? well it helped me after my freak out over the monumental amount of work i had to do recently. i hope that these pictures happened to make your day a little brighter. all for now

Flower Child

Hey, yall. i know it's been a while, but school had been tough on the homework recently so i didn't have much time.

so, i went to see the Botanical Gardens rose garden last weekend and they were gorgeous, and the bees seemed to think so too, they were everywhere. here are some pictures of the roses that i got pictures of.

and there were patches of lavender too, this butterfly was really pretty.

I've been college touring this weekend and can not help thinking that i am too young to be going to college! wasn't i just in second grade like yesterday? it just feels really odd, my friends and i talk about this a lot. everyone seems to grow up around you, and you stay the same age. huh

anyway, i got to go, the Scarlet Letter is calling my name.

Sol Lewitt

Hey, sorry for being such a bad blogger recently. i have just had so much work, and frankly nothing really to put up here. i we went to Massachusetts this weekend to go to Mass MoCA with my sister, and we saw this awesome Sol Lewitt exhibit, he was an artist who was really interested in geometric shapes and patterns, but still really wanted to be an artist despite the fact that he wasn't really good at the abstract part of artistry. so he did these huge wall installations of patterns and colors.
there were three floors in the museum, and they showcased his early, middle, and late work. you can see him getting more confident with color
i had many more pictures of this, it was so amazing.

This is just experimentation with different types of lines

drilled holes in the wall with bits of rolled up paper in them, this covered three walls, it was unbelievable to see in person.

this was my favorite of the exhibit, the pattern is the same in color on one side and different grays on the other side.

so afterwards, me and my sister found this amazing store calls where'd you get that? gifts for the curious. and what we found was amazing old toys that we thought were out of production like...CALICO CRITTERS!!! they are so cute, and i wanted to put a picture up, but my computer is being a butt, when we lived in London we had them and they are so adorable. in this amazing store we also found a doll called...wait for it...flatsy, she was a completely flat doll...because that will help girls with their body issues. so if you're ever in Williams town, check out that store.

more later

two more days

hi, everyone. i officially have two days left until i start school and, besides the homework, I'm actually kind of looking foreword to being with my friends again.

I didn't take any new pictures today because I've been in the house all day, but i have some of my postcard wall (i go to summer camp and i put the favorite postcards i get up on my wall because it was so blank before). and some other random ones i have.

my favorite is the one of the owl.

I just got these glasses from Forever 21, i don't actually wear glasses but these were really cool. I wore them around the city and got some really weird looks.

And this is a view of the lake at my camp.

I am once again delaying my work, so i will go read about the American Revolution...more later

Sunday, September 6, 2009

hey, I know this is two posts in one day, but I'm trying to do anything but finish but summer homework right now even though I have a load left and like three days left to finish...but whatever, not the point.

so, me and my mom went to wave hill today (it's like a small version of the Botanical Gardens) and i took a bunch of pictures of the pretty flowers there.

There were also some fish in this pond that were too
sneaky for me to get a picture of

...and some really cute kids that were there

they were also setting up for a wedding when we were there, that would be so gorgeous to have your wedding there...though it was a little chilly today so she might have been cold.

well now i actually do have to get back to work. more later.
